Information on Campus Reopening

October 30, 2019 - 3:46pm

HSU’s campus has reopened as of Wednesday afternoon, and classes will resume on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Medical and Counseling Services have resumed regular hours in the Student Health and Counseling Center.

Please note that some campus services may return slowly. For example, Windows Cafe will re-open Monday, Nov. 4. Access to some portions of buildings and campus spaces may not be immediately available as expected.

The J, College Creek Marketplace, and Giant's Cupboard have returned to normal operations. Free meals are no longer being offered on campus and parking permits are once again required as usual.

Most campus events will continue as scheduled, though some events are being canceled at the discretion of organizers. Please check with the listed contacts if you’re uncertain of an event’s status, and keep an eye out for messages about rescheduled events.

The Department of Theatre, Film & Dance has added a performance of Heathers The Musical in the Van Duzer Theatre for this weekend: Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m; Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, November 3 at 2 p.m. More information about Heathers The Musical.

As a reminder, please be careful if traveling during or after a power shutdown. Traffic and street lights may be out and there may be wildfires and shutdowns in other regions. You are encouraged to check PG&E and your hometown county website for updated information on any power shutdown, and CalTrans for updates on road conditions and closures.

We know that students, faculty, and staff have additional questions related to the campus closure. General information will be shared at poweroutage.humboldt.edu and by HSU email, and you may check with your instructors or supervisors if you have more specific questions.

Please be patient as students and employees return to class and work.
